FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q - Does this mean anyone can get into my computer from now on?

A - Absolutely Not!  The DCS Remote HelpDesk module is only temporarily loaded on your computer.  When the session is over, nothing remains that could allow anyone (including DCS) to access your computer again.

Q – What if I want to end the DCS Remote HelpDesk session before it is over for any reason?

A – You can simply click the END button on the timer AT ANY TIME.  This will completely shut down and remove from memory the DCS Remote HelpDesk Module.  You’re in total control.

Q – Is this secure?

A – Yes. The session is protected by 128 bit RC4 encryption for high security.

Q – Do I need to do anything when the DCS Remote HelpDesk session is over to remove the DCS Remote HelpDesk Module?

A – No.  The module will automatically be closed at the end of your DCS Remote HelpDesk session.

Q – Are you installing anything bad on my computer by doing this?  Is this Spyware?

A – No!  Nothing is actually installed when you run the DCS Remote HelpDesk Module.  There is no Spyware or anything else that gets loaded on your computer as a result of this procedure.

Q – What if I want to reconnect a DCS Remote HelpDesk session?  Can my DCS Rep reconnect the session for me?

A –DCS cannot reconnect the session once it is closed.  If you would like to restart the session, just let your DCS Rep know, and go thru the steps at the top of this page to reconnect.

Q – I have a Windows version prior to Windows 2000 and do not have the “strong encryption” update from Microsoft.  Will the remote module still work?

A – Please download the alternate DCS Remote HelpDesk module HERE.  This version uses compression instead of encryption to protect the session.
